Большой участок авеню (от пересечения с Ломбард-стрит [ Lombard Street] до пересечения с Голден-Гейт-авеню [Golden Gate Avenue]) является продолжением федеральной автомагистрали номер 101 [U.S. Highway 101], идущей вдоль Тихоокеанского побережья. сокр SFMOMAОдин из лучших музеев современного искусства в стране. С 1935 размещен на Ван-Несс-авеню [ Van Ness Avenue] в комплексе Муниципального центра Сан-Франциско [Civic Center]. Основан в 1921 и тесно связан с городским сообществом художников; создан при участии Ассоциации художников Сан-Франциско [San Francisco Art Association], с 1916 имевшей свой музей. Современное название носит с 1976.
